This post is a fixed term contract/ secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service.

Applications are invited for a qualified Physicians Associate on a fixed term period of 12 months. Working within the Community Services Department (Diabetes and Endocrinology) based in Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital the post holder will be part of a highly motivated and dynamic Multidisciplinary Team. The post holder will be welcomed by those working in the department, with every encouragement provided to develop and consolidate their Medical knowledge.

Main duties of the job

As a Physicians Associate you will provide care for patients including clinical assessments, diagnosis and treatment under the mentorship of a consultant.

The successful candidate will be autonomous, a team player and will be expected to work with the wider practice team to deliver services to meet the needs of the patients. The ability to multi-task and to work under pressure is essential and you must also be adaptable to a varied and high volume workload.

Working knowledge of using Microsoft Office applications, an understanding of GDPR and maintaining strict confidentiality in the healthcare setting are all essential together with excellent organisational and communication skills, flexibility approach to work and good time management.

Education and supervision is available through accredited and in-house training and the successful applicant will be supported by experienced trainers and clinical mentors. The level and type of supervision will be dependent on the post-holders skills and knowledge. A comprehensive induction plan will be tailored for successful candidate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
