As a Phlebotomy supervisor you will support on a daily basis a group of phlebotomists and provide effective coordination of the service. You will be a fully competent phlebotomist and will be expected to set and maintain high standards of patient care and blood sample collection. You will be working unsupervised, seeking support from line-managers as appropriate. You will work in various locations across the Trust and in the community supervising the work of phlebotomy staff as requested. You will have the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute towards the provision of an accurate and timely service for patients. You will be expected to apply professional judgements and specialist skills to technical and sometimes difficult situations. You will be required to communicate effectively with patients and to colleagues. Your contribution towards your development will require your active participation in people governance procedures consistent with Trust policies supporting Team leader. You may be required to undertake additional tasks in support of the general management of the department.
