Our haematology out-patient unit provides a wide range of services including clinic consultations, a day unit and ambulatory service and a Chemotherapy Day unit ensuring high quality care for all patients receiving anti-cancer treatment, as well as those patients with non-malignant conditions.

Working alongside the Haematology Clinic, this post offers you the opportunity to further develop your experience in caring and assisting patients and their families undergoing review and treatment. The position requires a commitment of 37.5 hours each week, with a schedule of 7.5 hours per day from Monday to Friday. Additionally, there is a part-time opportunity available for two days during the week, also from Monday to Friday.

You will need a qualification in venepuncture, which is essential. Cannulation skills are desirable but not essential.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a safe and efficient phlebotomy service ensuring that blood samples are ordered, collected and dispatched in a timely manner in accordance with Trust policy.
  • To work towards improving the patient experience
  • Working days will be Wednesday and Thursday’s, 7.5 hours per day, 08:30 to 16:30.
