Main duties of the job

What we’re looking for:

We’re seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician who is excited to broaden their experience within mental health and learning disability services.

You will need to be:

  • An Accredited Medicines Management Technician and Accredited Checking Technician (ACT) – or working towards these
  • Qualified with a BTEC / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent)
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting our dispensary with the ordering, receiving, dispensing, and checking of medication for wards and departments
  • Travelling to a variety of wards and units across Hertfordshire
  • Conducting medicines reconciliations to ensure safe and effective care
  • Assessing patients’ own drugs and transcribing for supply
  • Providing clear and compassionate counselling to patients about their medicines
  • Getting involved in pharmacy-related audits, stock reviews, and service development
