We are looking for an enthusiastic, clinically minded pharmacy technician to join our newly developed Emergency Department Pharmacy Team.

The role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape pharmacy services within the acute and unscheduled care teams, allowing the successful candidate to be at the heart of a fast-paced, high-impact care environment by supporting some of the most vulnerable and complex patients within our vibrant community.

The ideal candidate will be passionate for the development of a new service through enhancement of patient pathways, medication safety and improvements in medicines reconciliation. Whether a newly qualified technician or an experienced professional seeking a fresh challenge, this role principally requires a motivated and proactive individual, capable of working independently and integrating fully within clinical teams.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will:

  • Play a key role in developing and embedding our Emergency Department (ED) pharmacy services
  • Drive improvements in medicines reconciliation, discharge pathways and patient experience
  • Work closely within a multidisciplinary team to prioritise and support high-risk patients
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure patient safety and reduce prescribing errors
  • Contribute to audit, quality improvement and innovation projects
  • Work across multiple departments, supporting the ED as well as our acute medical and surgical assessment units, same day emergency care service and admissions wards
