Job summary

Are you passionate about providing an efficient medicines supply service to Inpatients in our hospital? The Inpatient Pharmacy at the LGI is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic Pharmacy Services Assistant (Apprentice) to join the friendly, sociable team at the LGI.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will undertake the Level 2 NVQ in Pharmacy Services qualification whilst training on the job over a 12-15 month period. On completion of this qualification, will then be able to progress to a Senior Pharmacy Services Assistant should they wish to do so. Full training will be given in labelling and dispensing of medicines, ordering and stock maintenance and reception duties.

The Inpatient Pharmacy dispensary team at the LGI is a small, friendly and extremely supportive team and the successful candidate will be fully supported in all training throughout completing this qualification.

The work is often fast paced and busy with the whole team pulling together to achieve the most efficient service for our patients.

Pharmacy is a forward thinking department that values the contribution of all our staff. There are plenty of opportunities to progress within different area's of our pharmacy service should you wish to do so.

What you will bring to the role

The successful candidate will have good literacy and numeracy skills and I.T skills. They will be able to follow standard operating procedures, be a quick learner and retain information. We are looking for a candidate who is a good team player with excellent communication skills an committed to self-development..
