Job summary

Main duties of the job

Monitor stock levels and place orders to maintain adequate drug holdings chase overdue orders and liaise directly with manufacturers and suppliers

Process and match delivery notes and invoices accurately, resolving receipt/stock discrepancies by analysing transactions, purchase histories and order details.

Ensure noncontract items are sourced at best price and quickest lead time

Obtain and process credit notes

Maintain manual and system ledgers as required.

Pass manufacturer and wholesaler invoices promptly for payment, helping the Trust achieve 30 day payment targets and settlement discounts.

Audit documentation, uphold security procedures, and keep filing up to date for audit purposes.

Liaise with Finance, Pharmacy IT Services, ATOs Stores & Distribution, senior managers and clinical staff to resolve queries and keep operations running smoothly.

Input high volumes of drug invoices including Homecare into the pharmacy system JAC and log contract changes with high accuracy.

Provide day to day guidance, supervise pharmacy assistants working in procurement/distribution, and assist with training for rotating staff

Maintain confidentiality - commercial, patient and staff - and support urgent sourcing of medicines for named patients when required.
