We are currently recruiting Pharmacy Dispensers and welcome applications on a full and part time basis.
You will join our rotational team largely in Sunderland Royal Hospital but will be required to work across our three Pharmacies and support our manufacturing teams. Our Inpatient pharmacy supplies pharmaceutical items to wards and departments across our various sites and also supports the medicine management team. Our Outpatient pharmacy dispenses prescriptions to patients attending outpatient clinics within the three outpatient sites operated by our dispensing partner CHoICE. Our Manufacturing team aseptically prepare medicines for individual patients.
It is essential that applicants have NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services and have some experience of working in a busy Pharmacy. Training in manufacturing can be provided for those applicants with a community pharmacy background. The successful candidate will be supported to undertake the Accredited Checking course after being in post for 6 months.
This role operates across a shift pattern which includes Monday Friday 8.30am 5.00pm, weekend working 10.00am-18.00pm and late night 11.30am-20.00pm / 9.30am-18.00pm.

Candidate should have achieved NVQ LEVEL 2 or equivalent in Pharmacy services, you would be expected to undertake an accredited checking course after 6 months in post.
Post is rotational including South Tyneside and Sunderland Outpatient pharmacies.
You would be expected to be part of a late night, weekend and bank holiday rotas.
You should be adaptable, methodical and have excellent communication and time keeping skills. You must be able to work well within the team and also have the ability to work on your own initiative to deliver excellent patient care.
We work in conjunction with the pharmacy education team and we assist with training of new staff which you would be expected to undertake
