We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic Personal Assistant/Administrator to join the Research and Innovation Directorate at University Hospital of North Midlands NHS Trust. This is a fantastic opportunity for an administrator to further develop skills within research to support a wide range of teams within Research. This will contribute to improving and changing the future care of patients.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will require to have excellent communication skills at all levels, confidence and expert experience of working in diverse settings, must be able to use their own initiative, build strong working relationships and work as part of a team within the research environment. We are a friendly team working in a busy and demanding NHS environment; the post holder is expected to have a positive attitude to encourage and support the enhancement of an effective research culture within UHNM.

The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a high-quality, comprehensive PA and administrative service, to the R&I Director, Deputy R&I Director and the Head of R&I. The post holder will also be providing PA and administration support for the Commercial Research Delivery Centre as the Research and Innovation Directorate has been awarded £3.1 million in government funding to become a regional research hub. The key responsibilities for this role include covering the reception desk and ensuring the reception area is well-maintained, liaising with members of the Directorate and external departments, managing multiple electronic diaries using Outlook, maintaining records, arranging meetings, typing minutes from various Directorate meetings, and preparing papers for relevant meetings.
