University Hospital Plymouth are seeking for Patient Support Supervisors to oversee the daily deployment and supervision of a team of Cleaning Assistants at the new Community Diagnostic Centre located in the city centre..

Main duties of the job

To ensure an effective and efficient Cleaning  Service is provided to all areas of the building , demonstrating high standards of customer service at all times.

Manage rosters, ensuring allocation of staff is cost effective and all documentation is completed daily, including allocation and overtime.

Ensure that all staff have access to the appropriate resources and equipment to carry out their role and that cleaning equipment is properly used and maintained

Liaise closely with all clinical and non clinical colleagues to ensure services are provided to their satisfaction

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To ensure an effective and efficient Cleaning Service is provided to all areas, demonstrating high standards of customer service at all times.
  • To support and promote staff welfare
  • To ensure that staff communications are cascaded in a timely way as agreed locally
  • Manage rosters, ensuring allocation of staff is cost effective and all documentation is completed daily, including  allocation, overtime and signing in records
  • Checking timesheets against staff allocation and approving timesheets for payment
  • Ensure that all areas within sphere of control are appropriately resourced and that staff are proactively supervised in the undertaking of their duties, completing their tasks according to agreed safe working procedures and infection control policies
  • Ensure appropriately trained staff are allocated following requests for Hospital Room Decontamination and rostered for planned deep cleaning activities.
  • To represent the department at daily Infection Control meetings as required ensuring that any relevant audit information is provided to the Infection Prevention & Control team and any information received is feedback to the team and actioned.
  • Ensure that all staff have access to the appropriate resources and equipment to carry out their role and that cleaning equipment is properly used and maintained
  • Ensure that staff complete their tasks to the standard required and to escalate any ongoing issues to the Patient Services Manager as necessary. For further details please see attached JD&PS.
