The historic Newham Hospital site of Barts Health is offering an exciting opportunity to join the Barts Heart Centre as a Patient Pathway Co-ordinator. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual the carry out secretarial tasks for specific consultants / Registrars with the unit.  This individual will also front validate patients pathways from clinic and through their treatment journey.  Tasks will also include all clinic letters are typed and sent out with a 5 days turnaround from clinic and also ensuring that relevant tests have been requested and undertaken so that patients can be treated within 18 weeks of referral.   This individual will be working closely with other admin teams within the service (scheduling, outpatients and inpatient admin teams), also clinical teams in the area and beyond. The post holder will be required to work as a team and take leadership from their Line Manager and Service Manager.   The post holder is required to assist in the implementation of processes and improvements within the service. Ensuring that service requirements are met and national targets are adhered to.

Our brand new state of the art cardiovascular centre – Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew’s Hospital – opened in May 2015 and further improvements and expansion of floors, wards, theatres and catheter labs has recently completed at the end of 2016. The new services and infrastructure will allow us to bring together our existing unique experience and research activity. We are increasing our understanding of and ability to address the root causes of cardiovascular diseases by growing the number of patients who get the chance to take part in clinical trials and research.
