NIHR GOSH Clinical Research Facility Patient Public Involvement and Engagement Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patient Public Involvement & Engagement Manager to join our dynamic team research team within Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust (GOSH) working alongside the team based in the NIHR Clinical Research Facility(CRF).
The NIHR CRF is a state of the art, purpose-built facility which provides specialist day care accommodation for children and young people taking part in clinical research studies.
This is an exciting time to join the NIHR GOSH CRF team to lead on the implementation of our five-year Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Strategy for research and be part of an enthusiastic and driven team who will be key to ensuring that patients and their families’ experience is taken into account whilst participating in research.
The NIHR CRF is available to all GOSH and UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health staff undertaking clinical research, in particular early phase and experimental medicine trials.
The NIHR GOSH CRF PPIE Manager will work closely with both CRF Directors, Associate Chief Nurse & Patient Experience and Head of Clinical Research Operations to develop and deliver the five-year PPIE strategy for the NIHR GOSH CRF.
They will work on developing and championing the involvement and engagement of patients, their families and the public within the CRF ensuring PPIE continues to inform all aspects of our research activity and raising its profile and understanding.
The role will entail interacting with patients and members of the public drawing on experienced facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
The role will support and maintain external and internal communication to promote and support patient and public involvement and to raise awareness of early-phase research.
The post holder will be a senior member of the NIHR GOSH CRF leadership team and will be expected to be self-motivated, work autonomously, flexibly and in teams.

You must have effective organizational skills and be looking for a new and exciting challenge. You should demonstrate the ability to manage own workload and to work as part of a team.
