Job overview

The post holder will work closely with the Transplant Manager and Deputy Transplant Manager to support the administrative and day-to-day operational management of the Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapies programme within Adult Clinical Haematology at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

They will serve as a central point of contact for patients, clinicians, nursing staff, directorate management, and the contracts and finance teams, ensuring effective coordination and communication across all aspects of the transplant programme.

Main duties of the job

  • Work closely with the Haematology Transplant Manager and Deputy Manager and Transplant Coordinators, ensuring the efficient running of the transplant programme, which will include Bone Marrow (BMT), Chimeric Antigen Receptor T-cell (CAR-T) and Sickle Cell (HbSS) transplants and Casgevy (Vertex) Gene Therapy for TD and SCD.
  • Manage the tissue typing of relatives and the identification of related donors and unrelated stem cell donors in collaboration with Anthony Nolan Trust.
  • Registering of patients on the Vertex/ Kite and Liso Cel Portal, in collaboration with various external transplant teams.
  • Collect and maintain accurate transplant activity records in order to contribute to financial planning and fulfil external reporting requirements.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with transplant team, consultants, clinical nurse specialists, clinical support teams, referring hospitals, patients and their relatives to ensure all are fully informed of transplant schedules.
