Job overview

Are you an experienced pharmacist prescriber looking to step into a truly autonomous and innovative role?

We're looking for a new Advanced Pharmacist and Independent Prescriber to join our mental health services in Buckinghamshire on a part-time basis. This is a rare opportunity for you to lead and shape a developing ADHD medication review service across Buckinghamshire’s Community Mental Health Teams. You’ll combine clinical expertise, independent prescribing, and service development to deliver meaningful improvements for patients.

What makes this role different?

  • You’ll help build a service from the ground up, not just maintain one
  • You’ll work in a highly collaborative MDT environment with strong medical support
  • You’ll influence care across both primary and secondary care systems

Main duties of the job

  • Lead a specialist ADHD medication review clinic across Buckinghamshire CMHTs
  • Carry out annual reviews, titrations, and medication optimisation for adults with ADHD
  • Prescribe independently and make complex clinical decisions with appropriate consultant support
  • Monitor physical health and ensure safe, high-quality prescribing practice
  • Work closely with CMHT teams to identify and respond to wider mental health needs

Beyond direct clinical work, you’ll:

  • Play a central role in designing and refining the ADHD clinic model
  • Act as the pharmacy lead for ADHD, supporting colleagues across the directorate
  • Build strong relationships with GPs and primary care, supporting shared care arrangements
  • Contribute to medicines optimisation, audit and quality improvement
