We have an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Therapy Assistant to join our Children's Therapies team in East Kent (Primarily Canterbury and Thanet) The post for 30 hours per week.
The successful post holder will support children and young people with complex needs following an integrated model of therapy delivery to meet the child's speech and language, physiotherapy and occupational therapy needs.
The post is based at both Greenbanks in Margate and the Children’s Assessment Centre in Canterbury. The post holders will be required to work across venues in East Kent including special schools, so a driver's license is essential.
Therapy Assistants are involved in supporting therapists with sessions and also working autonomously in delivering one to one and group therapy sessions, delivering parent workshops / training.
The sessions will incorporate interventions overseen by the therapist to support the outcomes for the child and young person and will include a range of approaches related to the identified area of need and could include interventions for one or all of the disciplines.
The role will include administrative duties in conjunction with the therapeutic support provided such as resource making; link visits to settings; follow up contact with service users, clinical record keeping etc.
