Paediatric Staff Nurse (RN Child)

Children’s out-patients department at St Luke's Hospital, Bradford are recruiting and would love to hear from you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Children’s Nurse to join our Children’s Services team.

We provide a bespoke and comprehensive training and education package.

This is a part time post, 25 hrs/per week to be worked Monday-Friday.

Main duties of the job

Children’s Inpatient Unit (Ward 30)

Ward 30 is a Children’s Inpatient Unit that was purpose built in 2016. The unit includes 35 inpatient beds and a two-bedded stabilisation area. The ward has an adolescent room, school room, play room and we are currently designing a new sensory room.

Children’s out-patients

Children’s out-patients is a busy department with many specialities and a multi-disciplinary team consisting of staff nurses, HCA's, play leader, admin, consultants and visiting doctors and surgeons, nurse specialists, physios, dieticians, psychologists and other support staff.

Children attend for appointments with their doctor, specialist nurse or team. Staff nurses help to co-ordinate the running of the department and allocation of staff, as well as carrying out allergy and other testing (training will be given), assisting with child protection medicals, chaperoning and supervision of students and volunteers, preparation of notes and essential checks.
