Main duties of the job

In this role, you will work as an autonomous practitioner, managing your own caseload and delivering individualised physiotherapy programmes. Your work will include:

  • Completing comprehensive assessments, diagnostic procedures and clinical reasoning for children and young people with complex needs
  • Developing and reviewing specialist treatment and postural management plans, including assessment and prescription of equipment
  • Providing highly specialised advice to families, colleagues and education/care staff
  • Taking responsibility for manual handling assessments and safe use of physiotherapy equipment
  • Working collaboratively with the wider MDT including teachers, nurses, medical staff, OTs, SLTs and social care teams
  • Participating in multidisciplinary and multi-agency clinics, including tertiary services
  • Communicating complex or sensitive information clearly and compassionately to families and professionals
  • Maintaining accurate records, reports and discharge summaries in line with Trust policy
  • Supporting service development, contributing to clinical governance and engaging in audit, research or evaluation projects
