We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Paediatric Epilepsy Nurse to join our team, providing specialist care and support to children living with epilepsy and their families.

About the Role:

You will carry out clinical assessments in both clinic and ward settings, ensuring timely and effective reviews. You will manage and prioritise your own caseload, organising day‑to‑day work to maintain continuity of care. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will help deliver high‑quality epilepsy care tailored to each child’s needs.

You will take a holistic approach, supporting children from infancy through adolescence, considering not only their medical needs but also their developmental and emotional wellbeing. The role also involves coordinating with the Matron, nursing staff, paediatricians, service users and senior managers to ensure smooth and effective service delivery.

Main duties of the job

Promoting Evidence based practice in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and care of children and young people with epilepsy

Supporting and advocating high quality epilepsy services.

Being the main point of contact for GP's and service providers.

Supporting the ongoing care of the child/young person and family, providing specialist information, emotional support and teaching.

Providing training, education, raising awareness and advice to other professionals.

Working as a role model in the care of children and young people with epilepsy and their families.

Skilled and expert nurse

Making recommendations and identifying areas for development and presenting them to teams.

Coordinating and managing the caseload autonomously.

Participating in clinical work

Liaising appropriately with all key members of the MDT and service users.

Transition to other services or adult care.
