Based in the Outpatients and Discharge Lounge, you will provide a warm welcome and support to patients and visitors attending appointments at our Weston General Hospital site.
Main duties of the job
- Providing a friendly welcome to patients and visitors of the clinics. • Updating patients with waiting times. • Signposting to other support and services, as required. • Restocking of resources i.e. cups / leaflets / activity packs and preparing information packs, where applicable. • Keeping patients company if they are on their own, engaging in conversation and utilising resources where available. • Providing a hot drinks and light refreshments (when agreed with the volunteering area/Division). • Supporting patients to take off outer wear i.e. coats/jackets, to help prepare for their appointment (where agreed with the volunteering area/Division). • Occasionally moving patients in wheelchairs from the clinic to a ‘pick-up point’ in the hospital (where agreed with the volunteering area/Division).
