The post is based at York Teaching Hospital and the successful applicant will join a small team, providing a reception and administration service for Oncology/Haematology and Breast Services within the Magnolia Centre. We are looking for a self-disciplined and motivated individual who has good communication skills, demonstrates attention to detail and someone who enjoys a multidisciplinary working environment.

Interviews for this role will be held in person only at our Trust site, please be aware that remote interview options are not available.

Main duties of the job

Duties of the post are varied and include patient contact both at a busy frontline reception and over the telephone, together with associated clerical tasks. As you will often be the first point of contact for service users , it is imperative that you can remain calm under pressure , multi task and display impeccable customer service skills at all times.

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication/ interpersonal skills, be able to work under pressure, demonstrate self-motivation and be a team player with a wide range of varying duties.

You will take pride in your work, and always be professional, proactive and courteous.  Applicants should be educated to GCSE Level C or above in Maths and English or equivalent qualification or demonstrable experience and previous receptionist experience and keyboard skills would be an advantage.
