
The post holder must hold the British Casting Certificate (BCC) and registered with the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA).
The post holder is required to provide casting/technical services to Adult and Paediatric Out-patient clinics, Accident and Emergency department, Plastics and Hand Management unit, Wards and Operating Theatres.
The post holder will have the ability to lead on practice Teaching standards within the Plaster Room/ Fracture clinic
To be competent and able to organise and manage own workload including the Paediatric Outpatients, Adult Outpatients, Plastics department, Inpatient wards and Theatres.
To be competent and able to manage and oversee the running of Virtual Fracture Clinics, working alongside Orthopaedic Consultants, and have the ability to recognise an inappropriate referral or treatment and liaise with the patient, Consultants, and Trauma team.
To be competent and able to run, manage Shockwave Therapy Clinics.
To be competent and be able to assist A&E medical staff and Orthopaedic Doctors/Consultants with patients requiring manipulation of various fractures, with or without the use of Entonox gas and/or anaesthetic in departments including ED, Theatres, Trauma Outpatient clinics, to achieve the best outcome so to avoid surgery where possible.
The post holder is required to undertake a wide range of tasks in support of clinical professionals, including activities directly related to patient care.

The post holder will provide specialised splints for the Paediatric Inpatients and Outpatient Department, Hand Management Unit, Medical patients, Diabetic patients, Burns and Plastics patients.
