Older Persons Services (OPS) are looking for motivated, enthusiastic Band 3 Health Care Support Workers to join our dynamic and friendly team across several of our wards across Bournemouth and Poole hospital sites.
As a Directorate we aim to provide the highest standards of care. Our teams work closely with Specialist nursing teams, Therapists, Doctors, Nursing staff and Pharmacy. We like to involve patients and their relatives in their care as much as possible.
It is a desire that Candidates have completed their Care Certificate or have a willingness to undertake further training to complete the Care Certificate within UHD.
You will be fully supported by colleagues who are committed to teaching and nurturing. We recognise that our staffs are our most valuable resource and we are proud of the excellent levels of service our team provides to our service users and the dedication and professionalism of our staff.
You may be required to take Numeracy and literacy assessment: Dates will be confirmed on selection and will take approximately 1.5 hours. All candidates that are successful with assessments will then be invited to interview at a date to be confirmed.
Experience of caring for the older person and acute patients in a hospital setting would be beneficial, and working well within a team is also essential.
You will need to be flexible in your working hours to work shifts/unsocial hours including nights as required.
There are opportunities to develop your confidence and your clinical skills in a supportive environment, to building and extend your existing managerial and clinical knowledge.

Older People Continuing Care (OPCC) wards are bedded wards as part of OPS for medically fit patients who require ongoing complex discharge planning.
Acute medical wards are short stay wards, specialising in care of the older person, for patients have a variety of long term and acute health care needs.
