The Operational Manager will operationally manage the provision of mental health services across a locality within Adult Mental Health on a day-to-day basis.
They will provide overall operational and developmental support as a direct report to the Associate Director of Operations, delivering agreed programmes of service development and improvement.
The Operational Manager will lead the care unit’s clinical quality and governance agenda’s taking responsibility for the monitoring and maintenance of professional standards and clinical care within there are of responsibility.
The Operational Manager will work collegially to ensure full support to the Head of Nursing, Associate Director of Nursing, Associate Director of Operations and Clinical Director’s ensuring that services are safe, well led and of a high quality.
The role requires an individual with a relevant professional clinical qualification and the management of people and services, to lead, direct and co-ordinate safe, effective and efficient local services to meet the needs of adult mental health patients, their carers and families. This role has the responsibility for facilitating development arising from the integrated business commissioning, the 5 year Forward Mental Health View and the NHS Mental Health Implementation Plan in line with local and national targets and in partnership with commissioners, Local Authorities and other stake holders.
Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

This role requires an individual with a relevant professional clinical qualification and experience in the management of people and services, to lead, direct and co-ordinate safe, effective and efficient local service to meet the needs of adult mental health patients, their carers and families. This role has the responsibility for facilitating developments arising from the integrated business plan, clinical commissioning, the 5 Year Forward Mental Health View and the NHS Mental Health Implementation Plan (2019/20 – 2023/24) in line with local and national targets and in partnership with commissioners, Local Authorities and other stakeholders. The post has day to day responsibility for the management of inpatient services provided to Notts county south and Rehabilitation in patient services. The post holder has responsibility for clinical quality, to include clinical governance, audit, procedure development, education and risk issues, acting as first line support to Associate Director of Operations for AMH and deputising as required. The individual will need to be highly motivated and have positive effective interpersonal and change management skills to achieve the service development agenda, within a partnership culture. The post holder will be required to work as part of a 24 hour on call rota
