Working in partnership with the Wards Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist, the OTTI will plan and facilitate both on and off ward programmes of therapeutic activity, which considers the needs of the service and the individual patients. At times, and where appropriate, this may include facilitating home visits and supporting engagement of the patients partner/family.
Additionally, following the framework laid down by the supervising Occupational Therapist, the OTTI will implement and evaluate delegated Occupational Therapy interventions which support Mums to recover a better quality of life and develop the skills necessary to manage their own occupational needs and that of their baby. Through the promotion of the benefits and value of Occupational Therapy, and management of activities which support effective service delivery, the post holder will contribute towards the ongoing development of an innovative and needs-led Mother and Baby Unit Occupational Therapy service.
