Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our service as a Band 5 for a fixed term contract of 1 year to cover maternity leave.  The vacancy will be in the Front Door Integrated Therapy team to start with, but then you may have an opportunity to rotate  into another service area on the established rotation at a later date.  The front door team operate a 7 day , 8am to 6pm service and you may be given the opportunity to work more flexibly depending on skills and confidence, once established in the team.

You will work in a Team based structure with senior OT leads, but you will also be an integral part of the speciality MDT working closely with Physiotherapists to provide an integrated approach to assessment and discharge.

If you are newly qualified and awaiting registration and OT PIN number, we may be able to start you as  a Band 4  whilst you are waiting to avoid delay with start date.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide occupational therapy interventions as part of an evidence based, flexible and patient-centred approach, working within a multi-disciplinary team, to meet the health and social care needs of people who are referred to our service.
  • To perform an occupational therapy role for people referred to the post holder’s clinical team with health and social care needs.
  • To provide supervision and support for relevant junior members of occupational therapy staff in conjunction with senior staff.
  • To participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy services within a designated team.
  • To support the supervision and training for students on practice placement.
