Job summary

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the team. The post holder will work within a multi-disciplinary team across a 7 day service and be will be responsible for completing evidence based assessments and interventions with our service users.

The applicant will have responsibility for a defined caseload of patients with complex mental health needs, alongside facilitating team and service development. The post holder will have knowledge of relevant legislation, the use of occupational therapy models and interventions for mental illness, and will be skilled in liaising with the multi-disciplinary team and external agencies.

The successful post holder will need to have a passion for working with adults with mental health conditions, whilst being flexible, motivated and a team player.

The post holder will be required to have a high level of adaptable communication skills, be compassionate, respectful and value individual patient needs. They will have the ability to recognise and manage challenging situations in a calm and professional manner, be resilient and emotionally intelligent and engage positively with service users and their families and carers.
