An opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our expanding team. We are currently undergoing a period of transformation to roll out the ICSS model. If you are a great team player, innovative an excellent communicator and have a track record of delivering high quality patient care in Stroke then this might be the role for you.

The job would be 22.5hrs worked flexibly on a rota system covering the county of Worcestershire. We support flexible working, and the Trust is excellent in supporting well-being.

As a trust we offer a robust induction period and continue to promote opportunities for development through 1:1 supervision session, peer working and in-service training.

Main duties of the job

Day to day, you will be undertaking comprehensive assessments of mild-moderate-severe stroke patients including those with multiple pathologies/co-morbidities, using specialist OT assessment tools to identify their personalised goals alongside the MDT. You will formulate individual programmes of rehabilitation using clinical reasoning and utilising a range of treatment skills, targeting realistic and measurable, patient-led goals. It is also expected that you will offer support and education to carers/families.

You will attend the weekly MDT in which the team will discuss the progress of patients and identify goals that are achieved and ongoing. You will also liaise with other health care professionals within the Trust/Acute Trust and surrounding borders.

We pride ourselves on being truly interdisciplinary, so you will also be involved with supporting patients to undertake their personalised rehab programmes to promote independence. These sessions are part of a rehabilitation focused approach of which we can evidence great results in patients regaining independence.
