Prescott House Community Mental Health Team are excited to be recruiting a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join their successful, friendly, and supportive team. This job is being advertised as B5 to 6 progression post . You will be working in a multidisciplinary team which includes another B6 and B7 Occupational Therapist across the Adults of working Age Division.

The MDT prioritizes occupational therapy as a core intervention to support service user's recovery. Occupational therapy pathways are at the heart of the Salford community transformation model.

We are focused on staff wellbeing, offering regular clinical and line management supervision, and building links with other community teams to share learning and provide support.

Regular clinical supervision will be offered and encouraged from the Salford Community Senior Practitioner for Occupational Therapy who is based within Ramsgate House. There is also the opportunity to participate in monthly Salford Community Occupational therapy meetings and bi-monthly Allied Health Professionals CPD sessions.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will undertake a full-time Occupational Therapist role within the team, focusing solely on delivering an evidence-based Occupational therapy service provision.  You will be supported to maintain an occupational focus in your work, undertaking Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions base on Model of human occupation, as well as specific work associated within the role of an Occupational Therapist .

You will work with a defined caseload of service users with severe and enduring mental health needs. In addition to this you will take a lead on delivering recovery focused groups in the community and support with line management of junior OT members of staff.

We are a committed, integrated service that strives to provide quality recovery-based support to people with severe and enduring mental health difficulties within the Salford area.

The post holder will be supported and encouraged to provide quality first-line psychosocial assessments, as part of the GMMH community teams duty role and work proactively in forging professional working relationship with multi-agencies.  Team members work occasional weekend shifts as part of the GMMH acute care pathway provisions of care, on a rota basis. However, this is a large team, so the frequency of this is low.

The Allied Health Professional Lead for Salford is a core member of the Salford Senior Leadership Team, where contribution and leadership from all professional groups is strongly encouraged.
