We’re looking for a rotational Occupational Therapist to deliver quality care across our Surgery/ICU, Medical, Urgent Care, T&O and Stroke Teams.

Your day may include:

• Triage, assessment and treatment of patients with a wide range of medical/surgical conditions

• Delivering rehabilitation in various settings including our new community-based Stroke Rehabilitation Unit

• Assessing for and ordering equipment

• Planning and implementing plans including home access visits to support discharge

• Documenting care and communicating with the Therapy and wider teams, patients and their families

• Supervision of support staff and students

It is expected that the post holder will contribute to seven-day services.

Main duties of the job

This is a qualified post and provides an opportunity for the Therapist to consolidate core skills and competencies.

The key function of this role is mainly clinical and concentrates on the assessment of patients referred to the service.

The post holder will work as an autonomous practitioner and will have the support of a senior therapist, and be part of the planning and implementation of therapy intervention in partnership with patients under their care.

These posts are rotational to ensure a rounded learning opportunity.
