As an OH Specialist Nurse you will provide OH clinical expertise and support the development of the OH Service.
You will support the Senior OH Specialist Nurse in the day-to-day clinical activity providing leadership for the OH clinical team including management of recruitment, retention, and appraisals (Bands 4-5 ) and working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager to ensure appropriate service provision.
You will work (initially under the supervision of the OH Senior Specialist Nurse) to provide Group employees to support and pathways for physical and mental workplace health issues and in some cases refer onwards as appropriate to the MSK Specialist Physiotherapist, The OH Consultant Physicians or to the Clinical Health Psychologists.
Responsibility for the day-to-day clinical activity and providing leadership for the junior OH clinical team including management of recruitment, retention, and appraisals (Bands 4-5 ) and working collaboratively with the Nurse Manager to ensure appropriate service provision.
Managing own clinical caseload and clinics with specialist knowledge, receiving, interpreting, and presenting highly sensitive patient clinical information to develop care pathways.
Liaising directly with Consultants/ Physicians/Senior Managers in specialist services including infection prevention, microbiology, haematology, respiratory medicine, sexual health, health and safety and community-based specialist general practitioners.
Responsibility for a specific caseload of high-level new employment screenings making decisions as to their fitness for their employment. Attend case management meetings to provide specialist knowledge and advice in relation to fitness for work and post sickness rehabilitation.
Supporting, evaluating and implementing actions and make recommendations for the rehabilitation and resettlement of staff returning to work following accidents or prolonged illness at work and provide advice on the reasonable adjustments required for them in their workplace.
Supporting the work of the department by participating with innovation and service improvement and utilising electronic systems instead of paper records where possible.
