Job overview

Are you a friendly, motivated and pro-active dietitian looking for a new challenge?  An exciting opportunity has become available for a Specialist Dietitian within United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust.   There are two posts available, one at Lincoln County Hospital and one at Pilgrim Hospital Boston.  Further details regarding post location can be discussed at interview.  The successful applicant will provide a service to inpatients and outpatients with a focus on more complex nutrition support across all wards.  The successful applicant will be supported by the Band 7 Team Lead Dietitian.

This exciting role would be perfect for a dietitian with 12-18months’ post-registration experience, who has experience of managing the dietetic treatment of patients with a range of conditions.  The post would suit somebody who is able to effectively prioritise and manage a busy caseload and is now looking to take on more responsibility and gain experience in leadership and service development.

The Dietetic Service at United Lincolnshire Hospitals is very friendly and, and in addition to clinical duties, there are opportunities for service development and line management within this role.  The successful applicant will have the opportunity to shape the service, contributing to the development of new ways of working, policies and guidelines.

Main duties of the job

The service provides support to adult inpatients requiring complex nutrition support and the clinical caseload of the post-holder will include surgical and medical patients.  You will have the opportunity to attend MDTs and best interest meetings, as well as working with the wider MDT to ensure high quality care for the patients.  There is also scope to contribute to the provision of parenteral nutrition as part of the wider multidisciplinary team, on the completion of competency-based training.  This role requires the ability to travel to all sites on request and external meeting locations on request.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will contribute to high quality dietetic care being delivered equitably across both sites, and ensure that your practice reflects the latest evidence base and guidelines.  This will involve development and review of resources including policies, guidelines and diet sheets.

The successful candidate will be supported to take on line management responsibility, including recruitment and induction of new staff within the dietetic team as required, clinical supervision, professional development and appraisal.
