University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust are excited to offer an opportunity for Band 4 Nurse Associates to join our Neonatal teams across both Royal Derby Hospital and Queen’s Hospital Burton.
We have a 26 bedded Local Neonatal Unit (Level 2) at RDH, which provides care to new born infants requiring intensive, high and special care., alongside 10 dedicated Transitional Care cots. We have an 8 bedded Special Care Unit (Level 1) at QHB, alongside 4 Transitional Care cots.
Our Neonatal services provide a comprehensive range of care including Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU), Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU), and Transitional Care, supporting babies and families across the region. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who are passionate about delivering high-quality, family-centred care within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
We are looking for qualified Band 4 Nurse Associates, from both adult and child backgrounds, who have a passion for Neonatal nursing. You must be able to work flexibly within a 7-day week, 24 hour service and be eager to develop your skills and expertise. There will be an expectation to work cross site between all inpatient areas of neonatal services. You will be supported by our friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated team.

Main duties of the job
The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality holistic neonatal and family care.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates and their families'
- Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective care delivery
- Support and promote Family Integrated Care (FiCare) principles
- Contribute to maintaining a safe clinical environment and adhering to Trust policies and procedures
- Develop clinical competencies in neonatal care, supported by structured training programmes
- Provide effective communication and support to families during their neonatal journey
