An exciting opportunity has arisen for a nurse to work in the Prisoner Healthcare Mental Health Team. We are seeking a forward thinking nurse who will embrace the challenge of this dynamic service. The team strive towards delivering safe, effective, patient centred care in line with NHS Tayside Vision, Values and Aims, to the prison community within HMP Perth, HMP Castle Huntly and Dundee Community Custody Unit.
The Mental Health Team is a nurse led service and carries out individualised assessments and interventions for wide range of patients experiencing mental health conditions. The team provides specialist mental health interventions including crisis management and support of patients who have community Mental Health Team input. The team endeavours to work with a trauma informed approach to care, and as the successful candidate, you will also be supported to develop and deliver phase psychological interventions with training and supervision provided. You will have a key role in developing, monitoring and evaluating treatment plans, working in partnership with patients while working closely and in collaboration with the wider multi disciplinary Prisoner Healthcare team. This includes but is not limited to, Psychological Therapies Team, Occupational Therapy, Substance Use Team, Primary Care Team and General Practitioners to meet the holistic needs of patients.
We are seeking a Charge Nurse in Mental Health who has relevant and substantial experience at band 5 inpatient and or community based services, who can demonstrate excellent clinical knowledge and ability to work with patients with multiple/complex needs. You will be a dynamic individual, possessing excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be committed to delivering care from a trauma informed approach towards high quality safe and effective patient centred care to this complex patient group within this unique setting.
You must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN3 or RNMH level 1 of the NMC Register
