We are recruiting for newly created Nurse Practitioner roles within the Haematology Day Care & Outpatient team.

Our Clinical Haematology service is at the forefront of innovative and therapeutic advancements, offering treatment pathways for a wide range of haematological diseases and disorders. You will have the chance to work in a dedicated specialist tertiary centre, covering both malignant and benign haematology services, including haematopoietic stem cell transplants (HSCT).

Main duties of the job

  • We encourage applications from registered nurses with recent experience in acute haematology/oncology, ideally skilled in vascular access and trained to administer systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT)
  • We are recruiting for an NP who is a  registered nurse with relevant experience and post registration education. During a specific episode, and within their defined area of practice, they assess, manage, deliver and advise on care, offering appropriate support as required.
  • A NP performs comprehensive clinical examinations of patients in their entirety, inclusive of physical examination of all systems, mental health assessment and remote assessment where appropriate and qualified, within their defined area of clinical practice.
  • As part of the multidisciplinary team, a NP has the autonomy to act and accept responsibility and accountability for their own actions, acting as an advisor for patients, or a resource for others within their defined area of clinical practice.
  • The haematology NP will be actively involved in assessing and managing patients within the haematology day care setting, utilising specialist skills and knowledge to effectively manage workload and respond to clinical priority, initiating appropriate, responsive, holistic, evidence-based treatment in collaboration with nursing colleagues and the wider MDT.
