
To contribute to the provision of evidence based professional midwifery services.
To provide high quality holistic perinatal midwifery care sensitive to the needs of the woman and her family. To work in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team in both the hospital and community settings, providing continuity of carer according to the local models of care. This includes partnership working with general practitioners, obstetricians, midwives, health visitors and all other agencies involved. To ensure that safe quality care is received by women and their families throughout the maternity pathway.
The post holder will complete the agreed LMS preceptorship package with support and as part of their professional development and transition to Band 6. During the preceptorship period the midwife will have the opportunity to provide care across the perinatal pathway in a variety of settings.
To act as a clinical role model and practice autonomously within the parameters of local and national guidance and sphere of professional practice, adhering at all times to The Code for Nurses and Midwives (NMC, 2018) and working within the policies and standards detailed by the Trust.
