Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled and motivated Network Field Engineer to join our IT team. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role supporting the network infrastructure that underpins clinical and corporate services across our diverse Trust sites.

As a Network Field Engineer, you will play a vital part in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network services, directly supporting patient care and organisational effectiveness. You will work closely with colleagues across IT Operations and Service Delivery, as well as third‑party suppliers, in a varied and rewarding environment.

Main duties of the job

  • Install, configure, and support network hardware including switches, routers, and wireless access points
  • Provide on‑site support for network incidents, service requests, and planned maintenance
  • Perform network fault‑finding, diagnostics, and resolution both remotely and on site
  • Conduct detailed network audits and produce clear technical documentation
  • Support and deliver network projects, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements in line with Trust standards and NHS Digital guidance
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network assets, configurations, and procedures
  • Support network security activities including access controls, patching, and vulnerability management
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, and partner organisations
