Charing Cross Imaging have the opportunity for a suitable experienced, HCPC registered Radiographer to join the MR team for a fixed term to cover maternity leave.

Charing Cross Hospital provides a range of acute and specialist services, a 24/7 accident and emergency department and hosts the hyper acute stroke unit for the region. It is also a growing hub for integrated care in partnership with local GPs and community providers.

This post will give you the opportunity to build on and develop your clinical skills in MR. You should enjoy working collaboratively to provide the best possible care for our patients at all times. You will need excellent communication skills and have a flexible approach to work, as participation in extended working hours including evenings and weekends is essential.

Charing Cross Hospital offers a range of adult MR examinations with both clinical and research work being undertaken.

Main duties of the job

  • To carry out a full range of MR procedures to the agreed standards of the department.
  • To abide by the Health and Safety Code of the unit and ensure that all patients and visitors do likewise.
  • To liaise and communicate effectively with other staff both within and external to the department regarding patient care and ensure that effective communication is maintained.
  • To provide instruction and information to support and reassure patients and carers during their time in the MR department.
  • To deputise for Modality Lead Radiographer – MR as and when required.
  • To be actively involved in the department audit and quality assurance programme.
  • To undertake any formal or informal training required to fulfil the needs of the post.
  • Use highly specialist knowledge to advise others on the effective delivery of service.
