Our Midwife Led Unit- Midwives  promote normality and the use of alternative therapies for the benefit of all women. Main duties of the job

Job Summary

  • Work within NMC codes of practice and professional guidelines.
  • Work autonomously within Trust guidelines and sphere of professional practice with reference to departmental manager as appropriate
  • Provide effective and visible clinical leadership
  • Advocate and support the rights of individual women to make informed choices about their care
  • Participates in high quality care for women and their families, also providing mentorship and professional support to enable students and maternity support workers to do the same.
  • Promote equality, diversity and rights.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to enable junior colleagues and student midwives to develop.
  • Undertake all mandatory training required by the Trust and specific to midwifery practice.
  • Act up for the departmental ward manager/team leader in their absence
  • Must be NLS trained with a minimum of 3 years band 6 experience.
