Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 midwife looking to develop their knowledge and counselling skills within a small team supporting women to make informed choices about their care.

The successful candidate will be supporting a consultant led outpatient area which provides specialist fetal medicine clinics to women within the Cambridge locality as well as women from other hospitals in the region that are referred to the tertiary service.

You will gain specific skills including the interpretation of high chance screening results and the ability to then disseminate this information to the women alongside their further options. You will act as a chaperone in the clinic and gain skills in supporting the consultants with data input and invasive procedures.

Requirements: •    Registered Midwife with current professional registration •    Experience in antenatal or high-risk pregnancy care •    Excellent communication and counselling skills •    Commitment to compassionate, patient-centred care

Key Responsibilities: •    Provide specialist midwifery care in fetal medicine clinics •    Support women undergoing advanced screening and diagnostic procedures •    Offer sensitive counselling and emotional support •    Work collaboratively with obstetricians, sonographers, and genetic teams •    Contribute to service development and clinical excellence
