The successful candidate will be autonomous practitioner, taking responsibility for the provision of care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods for women and babies in the hospital and in continuity of care setting.
You will be responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of care to both high and low risk women in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period in the hospital and the the Continuity of Care setting.
You will also supporting the team/ward in the effective management of the clinical area.
You will support, supervise and teach staff/students evidence based client centred care, which is of a high standard, being responsible for ensuring that all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures and maintaining associated records of care.
We have a robust preceptorship package in place.
This is a fixed term contract until August 2027.
The midwifery teams at WUTH provide care to approximately 3200 women and their families in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, both low and high-risk women. Encompassed within the unit is a Level 3 Unit for Neonatal Services, Children’s Services and Women’s Unit.

If you are dedicated to being responsible for providing personal, evidence-based and individualised midwifery care, then this could be the post for you.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills and a clear demonstration of the ability to provide personalised maternity care. You should have a clear commitment to current developments and initiatives within the Midwifery arena and sound knowledge of current issues in the public health agenda.
