Job overview

Make a real impact on race equity in the North West.

We are looking for a dynamic and highly organised Membership and Business Support Officer to join the team at the North West BAME Assembly, a leading regional entity driving sustainable progress in tackling racism, discrimination, and health inequalities across the NHS and wider health and care system.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the Assembly, expanding its reach, and strengthening its voice and impact across the North West. If you're passionate about equity, inclusion, and creating systemic change, we want to hear from you.

About the North West Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Assembly

The Assembly supports and influences the system to tackle racism and discrimination by amplifying the voices of the Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities, and challenging people to think more deeply about longstanding, deep rooted inequalities in healthcare and society, and to be a critical friend to NHS organisations in the North West.

You will support the transformation of the Assembly’s membership and offer. This includes implementing a refreshed membership and communications plan, producing high-impact communications, managing member engagement activities, and planning key events and conferences.

You’ll work with the Assembly team to ensure all aspects of our work are professional, inclusive, and strategically aligned.

Main duties of the job

You’ll be at the heart of the NW BAME Assembly’s mission to champion race equity across the North West. You’ll lead on building meaningful relationships with our members - keeping them informed, engaged, and supported through timely and relevant communications.

You’ll also manage the Assembly inbox and membership enquiries, acting as the first point of contact for members and stakeholders. With a strong understanding of CRM systems and GDPR, you’ll ensure our processes are professional, responsive, and effective. You'll play a key role in supporting and developing the systems that keep our membership growing such as running surveys, collating feedback, and providing resources that help us continually improve and deliver even greater impact across the region.

You’ll take the lead in coordinating Assembly and Steering Group meetings, supporting the delivery of the annual Work Plan, and making sure everything from agendas and papers to minutes and events are planned and delivered to a high quality. You’ll support senior colleagues with key programmes like the Anti-Racist Framework, helping to organise assessments, drop-ins, and panels, and keeping everything on track with project logs, updates, and reporting. This is a busy, varied role where you’ll be helping to shape the future of our region’s anti-racism efforts.
