Are you a motivated and skilled Pharmacy Technician looking to work in an exciting and fast-paced clinical environment? We’re seeking a proactive and patient centred  Pharmacy Technician to join the multidisciplinary in our Emergency Department.

Main duties of the job

In this pivotal role, you’ll help ensure that patients in the ED receive safe, timely, and effective medicines. You’ll work closely with pharmacists, doctors, nurses, and support staff to deliver a high-quality clinical pharmacy service at the frontline of acute healthcare.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Support the clinical pharmacy team in providing accurate, efficient, and patient-focused clinical pharmacy service.
  • Undertake medicines reconciliation for patients admitted via the ED.
  • Supply and manage emergency and critical care medicines, ensuring availability and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Support safe storage, handling, and dispensing of medicines within the department.
  • Liaise with wards, dispensary, and procurement teams to resolve stock and supply issues promptly.
  • Provide advice to patients and healthcare professionals on medication use, storage, and safety.
  • Assist in audits, service development projects, and quality improvement initiatives within the ED pharmacy service.
