We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and technically skilled person to join us at the St. George's Radiological Protection Centre (RPC) as a Medical Physics Technician or Healthcare Scientist. The successful applicant will work as part of a team providing radiation protection advice and support to St. George’s University Hospitals NHS Trust and a large number of healthcare sites across the British Isles to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff who come into contact with all forms of ionising radiations.
The post holder’s primary role is to ensure that radiological equipment is comprehensively tested and operating optimally.
Main duties of the job:
a) Assessing patient radiation doses for a range of radiological procedures
b) Investigation of radiation incidents and the provision of appropriate incident reports
c) Performing patient dose audits and assist in setting local DRLs
d) Other radiation protection duties as required by the section
