Diagnostic Laboratories – Immunology
We are looking to recruit a Medical Laboratory Assistant for the Immunology specialist discipline of Diagnostic Laboratories. The Immunology laboratory has undergone rapid expansion in the past 10 years and is now the second largest Immunology department in Scotland, we offer routine Immunology testing for NHS Tayside, Fife, Borders and Highland, with highly specialist tests offered across Scotland labs.
The Diagnostics Laboratories are based in Ninewells Hospital, a large Teaching hospital and Medical School in Dundee, and a multidisciplinary laboratory at Perth Royal Infirmary. The department is a UKAS accredited Medical Laboratory and holds IBMS Training and NES training approval. The Immunology laboratory covers autoimmunity, allergy, serum proteins, flow cytometry and is undergoing an equipment refresh and tender process for new equipment. The team of 15 with a mixture of support staff, Biomedical Scientists and Clinical Scientists. The post holder will be responsible for the management of specimen reception alongside other MLA staff.
We are looking for a member of staff that can demonstrate team spirit, initiative, flexibility, enthusiasm with good attention to detail.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
