Are you ready to lead the charge in ensuring seamless operations within East Lancashire NHS Trust? We are seeking a Materials Management Assistant to join our professional and customer focused Logistics and Supply Chain team. From managing inventory to optimising supply routes, this role is at the forefront of healthcare logistics, making a tangible impact on patient care.
The post holder will assist in the daily Materials Management service for dedicated areas within the Trust primarily working in our Emergency Department but may be required to cover areas such as Theatres and wards.
The job is for 37.5 hours a week which will be made up of 7.5 hours daily shifts between the hours of 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday
To provide flexible cover across other areas dependent on service needs There will be a requirement to cover other shifts these include 06:00 am to 22:00 pm weekdays, 08:00 am till 16:00 pm at weekends and nights 20:15 – 06:15 on a four weekly Rota basis in line with the needs of the service.
Operating within broad procedural guidelines the objective for the post holder is to ensure a timely and effective top up stock and non-stock system, replenishing stock to agreed levels, checking receipt deliveries, and put away of goods.
Most of the working day will be spent at Theatre /departmental level therefore a measure of independent judgment will be required from time to time.
This post covers a range of tasks some of which require the exercise of initiative.

To assist Trust Management in meeting the corporate objectives of the Trust.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Supervisor, the post holder will be responsible for providing a range professional supply chain and logistics service for the Theatre /Ward teams at the East Lancashire Hospital Trust.
Materials Management Assistants will provide support in:
Providing an inventory replenishment service (Inventory management order and top-up)
Maintaining systems data accuracy (Microsoft Excel, auditing, standardisation) Providing help-desk support (customer service and systems understanding)
Materials Management Assistants will play a leading role, as the Trust having undergone a major transformation, with the introduction of a new and exciting Scan for Safety (S4S) enabled dynamic inventory management system.
This new system provides improved service characteristics that will benefit the Trust and promote enhanced patient safety features
