- To support the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) for Malignant bone disease in providing co-ordination, expert care, information and support to patients with Sarcoma, metastatic bone disease, and suspected/proven Metastatic Spinal Cord Compression (MSCC) and their carers referred to the UHNS
- To work closely with the CNS for malignant bone disease, orthopaedic and oncology teams and community colleagues acting as a key worker and specialist resource for patients with primary and metastatic bone cancer, providing education and continuity of care.
- To support the CNS for malignant bone disease in developing services for patients with Primary bone cancer, metastatic bone cancer and MSCC within the University Hospital of North Staffordshire NHS trust (UHNS)
- To provide cross cover in the absence of the CNS for malignant bone disease, being the point of contact for all MSCC referrals. They will coordinate the patient pathway in partnership with clinical colleagues.
