To be an expert practitioner that take the lead role in the management, development, and efficient running of the Lymphoedema service. The post holder will be expected to develop and provide specialist lymphoedema advice, support, education and training to patients, carers and health care staff & professionals based on knowledge of relevant evidence, current research, good practice guidance. The post holder will be expected to have advanced knowledge and will be expected to demonstrate understanding of the causes of and management of chronic oedema, lipoedema, primary and secondary Lymphoedema. To carry a clinical caseload, working to a high professional standard, using advanced clinical and theoretical knowledge and skills to work as an autonomous practitioner, maintaining associated record keeping via RIO. To be an independent medical prescriber, if not to undertake the NMP course. To take part in research related studies and work with North Central London (NCL) to provide equity of care to this group of patients.
To provide professional leadership, education, and support across Enfield Community Services (ECS) for ongoing care for patients with lymphoedema and chronic oedema.
To take the lead to and develop the lymphoedema team in the provision of community lymphoedema services across Enfield.
To be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of own professional practice in line with the standards of the trust, Division and Nursing and Midwifery Council/ professional regulator.
To work with and support and develop all members of the lymphoedema Service.
To demonstrate a high level of expertise take a lead on complex patients including children, to assess and manage clinical risk within own patient caseload, ensuring patients have consented to therapy and treatment.
To utilise advanced clinical reasoning skills and evidence-based knowledge to assess patients holistically and then to implement lymphoedema management plan as appropriate
