The Lung Cancer Screening Navigator will take responsibility for the implementation, delivery and evaluation of a new service for participants invited to the SWAG lung cancer screening service. They will be part of the wider lung cancer service working closely with lung cancer screening clinicians, screening nurses, cancer support workers, diagnostic teams, Cancer Services, psychology and allied health care professionals.
This new role will support attendance at lung cancer screening and facilitate the smooth running of the patient journey by ensuring that coordinated and stream lined clinical and administrative processes revolve around the patient and their individual needs. The success of the pathway relies on close team working and a vital input and coordination of the patient pathway.
The post holder will organise and liaise with the clinical screening team to manage the planned checkpoints throughout a participant’s diagnostics and follow-up period, and support the screening team in ensuring the speciality is able to deliver safe and effective services.
The post-holder will also contribute to evaluation of the new role, supporting the clinical research team with delivery and data collection for the IMPALA trial. Relevant training will be provided on commencement in post.
