We are delighted to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our team in the role of Lower Limb Practitioner. This post will be suitable for a nurse or podiatrist.

The clinician will take responsibility for the triage, clinical assessment and diagnosis of the complex health and well-being needs within a defined sphere of practice. They will implement, evaluate and modify complex care/ interventions which they have developed to meet those needs. Contributing to the management of patients with complex limb and life threatening needs, the post holder will contribute to the development and implementation of service innovations within their portfolio  as well as training to the team. This role provides opportunity for developing wound care, debridement, offloading and arterial assessment skills

A departmental visit is encouraged prior to interview.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be responsible for delivering a high quality, accessible and timely evidence based clinical pathway for patients.

You will work within both the community Podiatry service and in the outpatient/inpatient hospital setting at Westmorland General Hospital, where you will be responsible for the provision of care to the high risk lower limb.

You will provide quality, evidence based clinical interventions, take responsibility for educating and training colleagues and support the community Podiatry team. You need to be an excellent communicator, able to work independently and confidently and possess well developed organisational skills.
