
The post is for a Consultant Upper Limb Surgeon with specialist interest in upper limb and trauma. We are looking for a consultant who is fellowship trained in upper limb surgery for a fixed term period of 6 months to join our existing complement of consultants.
The normal duties of Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics would be undertaken. This includes ward rounds, clinics, theatres, administration, teaching and inpatient support to colleagues and in addition to take part in the on-call rota.
Providing expert assessment and management of elective upper limb cases, including shoulder arthroscopy, arthroplasty, elbow procedures, wrist/hand pathology, and soft‑tissue reconstruction as appropriate. Deliver trauma care for upper limb injuries, participating in the on‑call rota as agreed. Run consultant-led outpatient clinics for new and follow‑up upper limb patients. Undertake regular operating lists, ensuring efficient use of theatre time and compliance with Trust performance metrics.
